Enabling green
steel in Kiruna

Northern Sweden is one of few regions globally with iron ore suitable for green steel at scale. This makes the region strategically important to the future of low-carbon steel production.
Zamin is advancing its flagship Painirova iron ore project in the Kiruna mining district. Over 11,000 metres of drilling were completed in 2025, confirming high-grade magnetite mineralisation.
The project is being developed with a target of 2 million tonnes per annum of high-grade iron ore concentrate. Work is ongoing to further define the resource and progress the project towards economic studies.
In addition to iron ore, the project also shows potential upside from rare earth elements associated with apatite, contributing to its long-term development potential.

A long-term development approach
Zamin develops its projects with a long-term perspective, integrating geological understanding with responsible planning and technical discipline.
From early exploration to project definition, each phase is approached with a focus on quality, reliability and future scalability. The ambition is to build operations that meet both industrial and environmental expectations from the outset.

Building for future production
The development of the Kiruna projects is guided by a clear focus on high-grade output and efficient operations. By combining resource quality with modern mining practices, Zamin aims to establish a strong foundation for long-term production.
Ongoing studies will further define the project’s potential and support the transition from exploration to development.

High-grade resource
High-grade magnetite mineralisation has been confirmed through extensive drilling, supporting long-term production potential.

Defined production target
Zamin is targeting an initial 2 million tonnes per annum of high-grade iron ore concentrate from the Painirova project.

Future development potential
The project also shows potential upside from rare earth elements, contributing to its long-term development value and overall resource potential.
